It had been seven long seasons since Blue Ridge beat rival St. Anne's Belfield. That all changed Friday evening when the Barons completed a 7-2 regular season and secured a playoff birth with a 35-12 victory over STAB.
The Barons raced out to a 21-0 halftime lead and extended the gap to 28-0 after three quarters. Blue Ridge was led by the three-headed rushing monster of seniors Shawn Steen, Cody Pegram, and Jared Arntzen. The trio combined for 274 yards and five scores on 34 carries.
After the game, head coach Orlando Patterson stopped by the Friday Night Endzone studio to talk about the win and preparing for a state title run.
