Local high school football players hoping to take their game to the next level have a chance to boost their college stock this weekend.
The AthElite Factory and Scrimmage Play are teaming up for the Central Virginia Elite Combine, this Sunday at 1 p.m. at Monticello High School.
Players will be timed and tested in four events: the 40-yard dash, speed shuttle, L-Drill, and broad jump. Official times are recorded, and can be reported to college coaches during the recruiting process.
Interested high school players can register here.
Last year's combine at Monticello drew roughly 50 players, with participants coming from more than a dozen local schools. Notable participants last year included Charlottesville's Rashard Davis (who signed to play football at James Madison last month), Fluvanna's Dashon Tibbs (who recently accepted a walk-on offer from Richmond), and underclassmen like Monticello's TJ Tillery and Charlottesville's Chris Thurston.
