Covenant has found a new head coach for its boys' tennis team, which has won five straight state titles.
The school issued a release on Tuesday announcing that Patrick Kearns was taking over its boys' tennis program. Kearns has been the head tennis professional at Farmington Country Club since 1995, and has been both president and vice president of the Charlottesville Tennis Patrons.
Kearns was one of two coaching hires announced by Covenant on Tuesday. The school also issued a separate release naming Michael Gardiner as the new head coach of the boys' lacrosse program.
Kearns was a four-year letter winner during his college career at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, before graduating in 1996.
