The NBA career of former Virginia basketball star Roger Mason, Jr. is taking him to the Big Easy.
The 31-year-old Mason agreed to a contract with the New Orleans Hornets, according to a Yahoo! Sports report on Wednesday. The Hornets will be the sixth NBA team that Mason as played for.
Mason appeared in 52 games with the Wizards in 2011-12, averaging 5.5 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. It was Mason's second stint in Washington, during an eight-year career that also includes stops with the Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, San Antonio Spurs, and New York Knicks.
Mason joins a New Orleans team that added No. 1 overall pick Anthony Davis of Kentucky in this year's NBA Draft, as well as former Duke guard Austin Rivers later in Round 1.
