Former Virginia All-American Jay Jalbert is one of the newest members of the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
Jalbert is a part of the Hall's eight-member class of 2014, announced Wednesday morning. Induction ceremonies will be held on October 25 in Hunt Valley, Md.
Jalbert becomes the 12th Cavalier to be inducted in the Hall.
Jalbert was a three-time All-American as an attackman and midfielder in his UVa career, including first-team selections in 1999 and 2000. Jalbert finished his college career with 112 goals, which ranked fifth all-time at UVa when he graduated, and is now No. 12 on the school's all-time list.
As a pro, Jalbert was a four-time all-star in Major League Lacrosse, and a three-time all-star in the National Lacrosse League.
The Hall's class of 2014 also includes Stan Cockerton, the father of former UVa lacrosse players Matt and Mark Cockerton. Stan finished his college career at NC State with 193 goals, and his 4.39 goals per game is still an NCAA record.
