Former Cavalier Wilson Promoted to Triple-A Norfolk

Former Virginia pitcher and current Baltimore Oriole farmhand Tyler Wilson is just one step away from the Major Leagues after a promotion to Triple-A Norfolk Tuesday.

Wilson started 16 games at Double-A Bowie this season, amassing a 10-5 record. He had a 3.27 ERA in 96 innings of work with 91 strikeouts prior to his promotion.

Wilson was selected by the Orioles in the 10th round of the 2011 First Year Player Draft. During his senior season at UVa, he was a 2011 second team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection. He ranks third in school history with 25 career wins, fourth with 88 appearances and 254 strikeouts.
