Former Western Lacrosse Player Earns CAA Weekly Honor

William and Mary attacker and Western Albemarle graduate Ellen Shaffrey has been named the CAA Women’s Lacrosse co-Player of the Week.

The sophomore had a team-high seven points on four goals and three assists in the Tribe's games against top-ranked Maryland and Richmond last week.

The Charlottesville native also recorded a team-best seven draw controls and a ground ball, while scoring her four goals on just four shots.

Shaffrey’s best performance of the week came in the victory against Richmond, as she registered a game-high six points with six draw controls and a ground ball.

Shaffrey shares the honor with George Mason’s Caitlin Formato.
