Former Major League Baseball great Dale Murphy was the featured speaker at the first annual Total Performance Elite Banquet held at the Doubletree Hotel Friday night.

The event was held to help raise funds for the Total Performance Elite traveling youth baseball teams.

Murphy spoke at length about his days as a ballplayer, and about playing the game with character and integrity. He also spoke to the youngsters in attendance about having fun playing baseball.

Total Perfomance Elite founder Todd Proctor and coaches George Morris and Jeff Burton also spoke at the event.

Another former Major League great, Billy Wagner, is a coach for one of the teams. The seven-time All-Star was also in attendance.

A silent auction was held, featuring many signed jerseys such as Philles pitcher Roy Halladay and former Yankees and Dodgers manager Joe Torre. Other MLB memorabilia was also auctioned off, including two four-ticket packages to future Mets and Braves games.

CBS19 Sports' Nate Sulham was the emcee of the event.
