Harris Leads 'Hoos Past FSU in ACC Quarterfinals

For the first time since 1995, the Virginia men's basketball team is headed to the semifinals of the ACC Tournament. The Cavaliers topped Florida State, 64-51, Friday in the tournament quarterfinals.

Joe Harris tied his season-high in scoring, leading UVa with 20 points on 7-for-12 shooting, including 3-of-6 from three-point range. Anthony Gill also shot the ball well for the Cavaliers, going 6-for-9 and finishing with 16 points, 5 rebounds, and two blocks.

After a close first half, Virginia took a five point lead into the halftime break and never trailed in the second half. Behind a strong performance from Gill, UVa's bench was able to outscore Florida State's 26-9 on the way to their third win this season over the Seminoles.

The top-seeded Cavaliers move on to face the winner of Friday afternoon's matchup between 5th-seeded Pittsburgh and 4th-seeded North Carolina. UVa beat UNC, 76-61, at John Paul Jones Arena on Jan. 20 and went on the road to beat Pitt, 48-45, on Feb. 2.
