'Hoos Turn Attention to TCU

Mike London says his team has turned the page, and turned its attention toward TCU.

The Virginia football team is coming off its first loss of the season, a one-sided 56-20 defeat at Georgia Tech on national television last Saturday in the Cavaliers' ACC opener. This week, they'll travel to Texas to visit the nationally-ranked Horned Frogs.

"It was just one of those games that got away from our young guys; got away from us. They played better than us. And you have to move on," London said Monday about last weekend's loss, which dropped Virginia to 2-1.

"I'm always a positive guy. I understand that there are things that we have to fix, and things that we have to do," London said. "But you have to approach the players in a positive manner when you're going on to the next game."

"You have to have confidence, so that's all I'll talk about to these guys," London added. "About letting that one go, and moving on."

Virginia had little success stopping Georgia Tech's triple-option offense last weekend. The Yellow Jackets put up 594 yards of total offense, including 461 on the ground. The 56 points were the most scored by a UVa opponent since 1999, when Illinois put up 63 in the Micronpc.com Bowl.

This weekend, the Cavaliers will be opposed by an offense led by quarterback, whose 242.4 passing efficiency rating leads the country. Defensively, the Horned Frogs have yet to allow a touchdown this season. At 2-0, TCU enters Saturday's game ranked 17th in the latest Associated Press poll, and 16th in the new USA Today coaches poll.

"You go in each week wanting to win each game, no matter the offensive style that they're playing. But we've just got to forget about this past week," said Virginia sophomore safety Anthony Harris. "Each week you've got to move on, whether it's a win or a loss."

"We could hang our heads and things like that, but then the younger guys are going to look to us and think that's the way it's supposed to be done. So we definitely don't want to do that," said senior defensive end Ausar Walcott. "We want to keep our heads high, and let them know that it's only the third game. You've still got to keep fighting."
