'Hoos Use Another Big Day at Plate to Complete Sweep

Virginia assistant Kevin McMullan, the team's third base coach, may need to ice down his shoulder after waving so many runners home this weekend.

Virginia completed a three-game sweep of Duke with a 14-6 win on Sunday at Davenport Field. The Cavaliers put up 37 runs and 47 hits in the series, and improved to 42-8 on the season (20-7 in the ACC) with Sunday's win.

Reed Gragnani capped off a big weekend with a four-hit performance on his Senior Day. Freshman Joe McCarthy also put up four hits for Virginia, while new leadoff man Mike Papi had a pair of hits and four RBI.

Virginia also got a solo homer from sophomore Derek Fisher, giving him seven on the season, tying Fisher with Brandon Downes for the team lead.

Closer Kyle Crockett got the win for the Cavaliers after pitching 4 1/3 innings after entering the game in the fourth. Crockett gave up five hits and two runs, and struck out four.
