Indians Promote Former Wahoo Crockett

It took Kyle Crockett less than a month to get promoted by the Cleveland Indians.

Crockett -- who spent this past spring as Virginia's closer before signing with the Indians -- is now a member of the Lake County Captains, the team's media relations director confirmed on Tuesday. The Captains play in the Class A Midwest League.

Crockett was taken by Cleveland in Round 4 of this year's draft, and began his career with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers of the short-season New York-Penn League. Crockett's last appearance with the Scrappers was a scoreless inning of work at Staten Island on Sunday.

Crockett went 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA in eight appearances at Mahoning Valley, striking out 16 while walking just two and giving up five hits in 9.1 innings of work.
