Local Players Highly Ranked by Baseball Recruiting Site

A prominent national baseball recruiting website ranks a pair of local juniors among the best prospects in the state of Virginia.

Perfect Game updated its rankings for the recruiting class of 2015 earlier this month. Two local players -- Fluvanna outfielder Jalen Harrison and St. Anne's-Belfield catcher Jake Allen -- are both in the top 15 prospects in the state of Virginia.

Harrison, listed at 6-4, 205 lbs., is rated as the No. 11 overall player in the state, and the No. 2 outfielder. The 5-11, 175 lb. Allen isn't far behind at No. 13 overall, and he's ranked as the No. 2 catcher in Virginia's class of 2015.

Both players are also in the top 100 of Perfect Game's 2015 national rankings at their respective positions. Allen is ranked No. 55 nationally at catcher, while Harrison is the No. 92 outfielder in the country.
