Former Monticello star Mike Brown's quest to make the roster of the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars has come up short.
The Jaguars announced 22 moves late Friday night, as the team trimmed its roster to the league's limit of 53 players. Brown was one of eight rookies waived by the team.
Brown joined Jacksonville as an undrafted rookie free agent in May after impressing coaches at a post-draft tryout camp. The Liberty alum had one catch for 8 yards for the Jaguars this preseason.
Brown is still a candidate for the practice squad with the Jaguars or any other NFL team. Teams can start signing players to practice squads at noon on Saturday.
