Monticello alum Ben King finished his first Tour de France Sunday in 53rd place out of 164 riders in the three-week event.
King was the top finisher on his Garmin-Sharp team and was the fourth-fastest American in the 101st annual race. He finished the event in 92 hours, 41 minutes and five seconds.
Italy's Vincenzo Nibali was the Tour's overall winner with a time of 89 hours, 59 minutes and six seconds.
