The Monticello girls basketball team has used 70.4 as a rallying cry throughout their season, hoping to make the 70.4 mile trip from their school to the Siegel Center where state semifinals are held.
After a 47-46 win over Poquoson Saturday in the Division 3 state quarterfinals, they'll now get to make that trip.
Monticello led by 3 at halftime, but Poquoson led by as many as 8 in the fourth quarter. The Mustangs took the lead with 0.8 seconds to play on a Kiana Scott free throw, and held on for the 1-point win.
Monticello will play Spotswood in the state semifinals Tuesday at the Siegel Center.
