Seniors Steve Greer and Oday Aboushi entered the 2012 football season with the burden of being the only Virginia players named to the preseason All-ACC team.
On Monday, both players appeared on another league-wide list -- the postseason All-ACC football first team. It's the first time either player were named to the postseason first team, after both earned second team honors in 2011.
Aboushi and Greer were the only Cavaliers to earn first-team honors. Virginia had three other players receive honorable mention -- sophomore tight end Jake McGee, senior linebacker LaRoy Reynolds, and sophomore corner Demetrious Nicholson.
Greer, a linebacker, finished the season second in the conference with 122 tackles. He was also named the league's linebacker of the week on Monday, following his career-high 19-tackle performance in Saturday's 17-14 loss at Virginia Tech.
Aboushi, an offensive tackle, has started every game since Mike London took over as head coach at Virginia before the 2010 season. In 2012, Aboushi averaged more than 10 knockdown blocks per game, and graded out at over 90 percent in all 12 games.
