Nick Howard is the latest Virginia Cavalier to sign a professional contract.
Howard signed on the dotted line late Monday night with the Cincinnati Reds, who took the hard-throwing righty with the 19th overall pick in last month's Major League Baseball draft.
Howard enjoyed a dominant first season as the UVa closer. He saved an ACC record 20 games with a 1.91 ERA and 60 strikeouts in just 37 innings of work.
He was named First-Team All-ACC and also picked up honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (second-team) and Louisville Slugger (third-team).
