Former Virginia quarterback Michael Rocco may be spending next football season on the sideline at Richmond.
After starting 21 games for the Cavaliers the past two years, Rocco transferred to Richmond in January. But according to the Richmond Times Dispatch, the NCAA has denied the Spiders' waiver requesting Rocco be made eligible to play immediately.
According to the report, Richmond plans to appeal the NCAA's decision.
Rocco completed 396-of-657 passes for 4,731 yards, with 27 touchdowns and 24 interceptions in his Virginia career. The Cavaliers went 11-9 in games he started the past two years.
