According to a report from the Huntsville Item, Virginia offensive line coach Scott Wachenheim is one of four finalists for the head coaching job at Sam Houston State.

Wachenheim has spent four seasons at UVa, coaching offensive lineman and tight ends. Before coaching at Virginia, he was the tight ends coach for the Washington Redskins in 2009. He has also previously worked as the assistant head coach at Liberty and the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Rice.

According to the report, the other finalists are former Delaware head coach K.C. Keeler, former head coach and current Northwest Missouri State athletic director Mel Tjeersdma, and former Texas co-offensive coordinator/receivers coach Darrell Wyatt. The report also says that all four finalists will interview for the job early this week, adding that a fifth finalist could also be interviewed.
