Never before had a Cavalier pitcher thrown a perfect game, but Will Roberts changed all that in less than two hours. It took Roberts just 98 pitches to make Virginia history, throwing the first perfect game ever for the Cavaliers in a 2-0 win over George Washington on Tuesday night. The victory also marked the 2,000th win in program history.

Roberts' accomplishment marking just the eighth nine inning perfect game in Division I baseball history. He recorded ten strikeouts in the gem, tying a career high. His previous high for innings pitched had been 7.2 earlier this season against Niagara.

Virginia got two runs in the fourth inning to account for the only scores of the evening. The Cavaliers got six hits, but didn't need much offense behind Roberts, who improved to 5-0 on the season. He lowered his ERA to 1.13 on the season in seven starts.

The Cavaliers improve to 25-2 on the season and continue to hold the best record in the nation. They'll head to Blacksburg this weekend for a three game series with Virginia Tech. Click on the above video link to view highlights and hear reaction from Will Roberts' perfect game.
