Virginia senior Mike Scott gave his growing legion of fans plenty to cheer about again on Wednesday night.

The fifth-year forward matched a UVa record by making all nine of his field goal attempts in a 68-44 win over Wake Forest at John Paul Jones Arena. Scott finished with a game-high 19 points.

He became the third player in school history to shoot a perfect 9-of-9 from the floor, joining Jeff Jones against UAB on March 18, 1982, and Kenny Turner against Samford on Nov. 28, 1989.

With the win, No. 19 Virginia improved to 19-4 on the season and 6-3 in the ACC. It also snapped the program's six-game losing streak against the Demon Deacons.

Scott's first two field goals erased an early 2-0 deficit, and ignited an early 10-0 Virginia run. The Cavaliers never trailed again, finishing the first half on a 12-0 run, then opening the second half on a 14-4 run.

Scott and sophomore Joe Harris combined for 25 points in the first half. The Demon Deacons scored 19 as a team.

Harris finished with 11 points. Forward Akil Mitchell and guards Jontel Evans and Malcolm Brogdon added 10 apiece.
