Elynn Lee is a senior captain of the Buckingham girls' basketball team and the Knights' biggest weapon anywhere on the court.

"She's my clutch person", said head coach Ethan Abruzzo. "If we're down or need something, she's the one I want with the ball going to the basket."

Even at 5 feet 0 inches tall, she's the leading scorer inside and outside the paint.

"Our team isn't that tall all together," said Elynn. "But we work hard and we play like we're big."

"She's not very tall but she plays like she's 6'5," said Abruzzo. "She'll go in with the big girls and if she needs to, she'll pull out and shoot it from the three-point line."

A third -year varsity player, Elynn was a part of the state-qualifying team two years ago and says that experience helps her be a role model to the younger players.

"Just being the one that's been on the team the longest, I feel like setting the example and showing them how to be better," Elynn said of her role as a captain. "And how to get where they should be, with all the potential that they have."

Elynn will play third base this spring for the Knights' softball team, where she's been an all-district and region selection. As a straight-A student in the classroom, she's ranked in the top 25 of her senior class and has plans to attend college to major in health administration.

"School's first, sports second. That's how it always is, that's how my parents taught me."
