Something had to give Wednesday.
The United States and Serbia were the lone undefeated teams entering the final game of pool play in the FIBA U19 World Basketball Tournament.
Team USA got all it could handle from Serbia before pulling away for the 71-62 win. The US remained the only unbeaten team in the tournament with the victory.
In easily its toughest test of these games, the US led by just nine at the half. Jhalil Okafor led the US with 16 points and Duke's Rasheed Sulaimon had 15.
Virginia's Mike Tobey did not play in the contest.
Team USA will now move on to the quarterfinal stage. It opens with Canada Friday.
