Tobey Makes U19 World Championship Team

Virginia rising sophomore Mike Tobey has punched his ticket to Prague. The Cavaliers center made the final 12-man roster for the U19 World Championship Team.

Twenty-four players were invited to the camp in Colorado Springs, with that list being pared down to 16 on Sunday and then 12 by Monday night. Tobey will join his coach, Tony Bennett, who is an assistant on the team under head coach Billy Donovan.

The team departs on June 19 for three days of training at the Washington Wizards practice facility in Washington, D.C. The 2013 FIBA U19 World Championship will be held June 27-July 7 in Prague, Czech Republic.

Tobey averaged 6.8 points and 2.9 rebounds per game during his freshman season at UVa.
