Virginia was dominant in just about every aspect of Tuesday's visit to American in women's lacrosse -- including on the scoreboard, where the Cavaliers came away with a 16-4 win.
Virginia out-shot the Eagles 32-10 and won draw controls 18-4. The Cavaliers also outscored American 9-0 in the first half -- and led 11-0 at one point in the second half -- on their way to snapping the Eagles' five-game winning streak.
Sophomore Morgan Stephens had her third hat trick of the season, plus an assist. She also won three draw controls and picked up a ground ball.
Sophomore Courtney Swan and junior Ashlee Warner added two goals apiece.
