Virginia running back Perry Jones will play in next weekend's inaugural Raycom College Football All-Star Classic.
The school announced on Friday that Jones has accepted an invitation to play in the game, set for 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 19 in Montgomery, Ala. Jones will be a member of the Stripes team, which will be coached by former Broncos and Falcons head coach Dan Reeves.
Jones, a captain the past two seasons for the Cavaliers, leaves Virginia ranked in the top 10 all-time in all-purpose yards (3,722, good for ninth all-time) and receptions (fifth all-time with 129). He's one of just four players in school history -- and a dozen all-time in the ACC -- to reach 1,000 career yards in both rushing and receiving.
Jones joins offensive tackle Oday Aboushi and linebacker Steve Greer as Virginia seniors invited to postseason all-star games. Aboushi will play in the Senior Bowl, while Greer will appear in the East-West Shrine Game.
