Virginia rising sophomore John LaPrise has been selected to the Northwoods League All-Star game, which will be played July 23 at Carson Park in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
This summer, LaPrise has been playing for the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League, which is a summer baseball league that features some of the top college players in the country.
LaPrise is leading the Mallards with a .450 batting average through 27 games. He also leads the team with 11 stolen bases, and has collected 49 hits while driving in 17 runs.
As a freshman, LaPrise started seven games for UVa. One of those starts came in the Cavaliers' extra innings win over North Carolina, when LaPrise hit a two-run triple in the 11th inning.
