The Virginia basketball team's latest stay in the national rankings lasted three games.
The 2-1 Cavaliers dropped out of the top 25 of both the Associated Press and coaches polls. UVa was No. 25 in both polls last Monday, a day before Tuesday's 59-56 loss to VCU at John Paul Jones Arena.
The Cavaliers are still receiving votes in both polls.
UVa had begun the season No. 24 in the AP rankings and No. 25 in the coaches poll. It had marked the first time the program entered a season nationally ranked since prior to the 2001 season.
UVa bounced back from last Tuesday's loss with a 70-57 win over Davidson in Charlotte on Saturday. Virginia's next three games are at home, starting Tuesday night against Navy.
