The Virginia women's basketball team earned a 66-57 road victory Sunday at Florida State to finish the season 21-9 overall, 9-7 in the ACC. earned the sixth seed in the upcoming ACC Tournament. The Cavaliers will face No. 11 Boston College (7-22, 2-14) at 8 p.m. Thursday night in Greensboro, N.C.
The women finished tied for fifth place in the ACC with North Carolina but the Tar Heels won the head-to-head tiebreaker.
The ACC Tournament begins Thursday March 1 at 11 a.m. and runs through the championship game March 4 at 2 p.m. in Greensboro, N.C.
With a first round win, the Cavaliers would advance to the quarterfinals opposite No. 3 Maryland. That game would be at 8 p.m. on Friday (March 2).
Regular-season champion Duke (24-4 overall, 15-1 ACC) is seeded first in tournament, aiming for their third straight ACC title. Miami (25-4, 14-2) is seeded No. 2, followed by No. 3 Maryland (25-4, 12-4) and No. 4 Georgia Tech (22-7, 12-4).
