Jared King's RBI-double in the 10th gave No. 7 Virginia a 10-9 walk-off win over Old Dominion Wednesday night at Davenport Field. Virginia improved to 32-6 overall with the win.
Brandon Cogswell doubled down the left field line with two outs in the bottom of the 10th to set the table for King, who lofted a blooper into the corner in right, allowing Cogswell to score the game-winner from second.
Virginia trailed 7-2 in the sixth but got the comeback started thanks to RBIs by Derek Fisher and Reed Gragnani to cut it to 7-4.
After ODU got a run back, Mike Papi tied the game in the seventh with a grand slam to right.
The Monarchs then again took a one-run lead in the eighth, only to see Virginia tie it again. The game stayed tied at 9-9 until King's heroics in the 10th.
King finished the game 3-for-5 with two runs scored and the RBI. Papi was 1-for-4 with 5 RBIs and Fisher added a pair of RBIs as well.
Kyle Crockett picked up the win after firing 2.2 scoreless innings out of the pen.
