Former Hokie Drew Weaver has a two-stroke lead on the field entering Friday's final round of the Spring Creek Classic.
Weaver shot a 6-under 66 on Thursday to move to 11-under for the tournament, putting him two strokes in front of Tim Hegarty atop the leaderboard. Weaver entered the second round of the eGolf Tour event with a share of sixth place, at 5-under.
First-round leader Ryan Nelson shot a 1-over 73 on Thursday to fall to 7-under for the tournament, where he is tied with Seamus Power for sixth place.
The 36-hole cut fell at 1-under, with 40 players advancing to Friday's final round. Stanardsville native Mikey Moyers was 1-over on Thursday, but still made the cut at 3-under for the tournament. Virginia alum Will Collins shot a two-under 70 on Thursday to move to 1-under for the week, and also make the cut.
