Western's Henry Headed to Franklin & Marshall

Record-setting Western Albemarle quarterback Kent Henry is heading to Pennsylvania to play football in college.

On Tuesday night, Henry announced on Twitter that he will attend Division III Franklin & Marshall in Lancaster, Pa. The Diplomats are coming off a 7-4 season in 2013, that ended with a 38-14 win over Delaware Valley in the ECAC Southeast Bowl.

“It just felt right,” Henry told Scrimmage Play on Tuesday. "All of the players and coaches were really nice and I have the chance to play early.”

A three-year starter at quarterback for the Warriors, Henry repeated as Jefferson District offensive player of the year in 2013, after throwing for 2,414 yards and 36 touchdowns, and rushing for 1,287 yards and 16 scores.

According to stats kept by Scrimmage Play, Henry is the area's all-time leader in several statistical categories, including total yardage and career touchdowns. Henry finished his prep career with 7,124 passing yards and 84 touchdowns, and 3,640 rushing yards and 47 touchdowns.
