Western Albemarle senior Daniel Kuzjak has been named one of 10 winners of the annual VHSL Achievement Award.
Kuzjak was named the 2013 Group AA Male Athlete of the Year on Thursday. He and the nine other winners will be honored at a luncheon next Monday at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville.
Kuzjak was an all-state wide receiver for the Warriors in 2012, after catching 54 passes for 971 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also qualified for the AA indoor track state meet in three events -- the long jump, 300-meter dash, and 4x400 relay. In the classroom, Kujzak is a member of the National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, English Honor Society and National Latin Honor Society.
Kuzjak will play football at William & Mary next year.
The VHSL Achievement Award is given to high school seniors who "have excelled in the classroom and in athletic and academic activities." The full list of 2013 winners:
