Western Albemarle's Maya Langman verbally committed to play field hockey at Holy Cross just a few weeks ago, and Friday she made her commitment official.

Langman signed her letter of intent to play for the Crusaders in front of family and friends at Western.

The Warriors senior was second-team all-state this year, and says she can't wait to continue her field hockey career with her new team.

"Everybody there, like the people are just great and they really, they're like a big family," she says of the team environment at Holy Cross. "They're all really hardworking people and they're competitive just like me and they're just a bunch of quirky people and I really like that."
