Zimmerman's Late-Game Heroics Push Nats Past Mets

Zimmerman had a pair of hits in the Nationals

Chris Davis went 4 for 4 with two home runs, and the Baltimore Orioles overcame three homers by Ryan Zimmerman to beat the Washington Nationals 9-6 on Wednesday night.

Ryan Zimmerman's two-out, bases-loaded double in the eighth led Washington past New York, 6-4, Friday night.

The Nats trailed 4-1 before the Virginia alum laced a double to the left-center gap, clearing the bases and tying the game.

Ian Desmond then doubled home the go-ahead run in the ninth inning. Tyler Clippard (6-1) won in the relief and Drew Storen got his second save.

The Mets wasted a dominant Matt Harvey effort. The righty struck out 11 and left with a 4-1 lead after seven innings.
