District play opened up for many local high school football teams to headline Friday Night EndZone.

Orange and Monticello kicked off in our Game of the Week, with the Hornets earning the 36-23 victory. Tyrone Ellis scored two touchdowns for Orange, while Jesse Ayres rushed for 222 yards and two scores for Monticello in the losing cause. Orange held a 17-10 lead at halftime, but the Mustangs clawed back to make it 17-16 in the third, before the Hornets pulled away. A safety due to a snap through the endzone gave Orange a 19-16 lead, and John Kayajanian's team added a quick touchdown to begin to pull away.

Louisa improved to 4-0 with a 50-21 win over William Monroe. Tied at 14, the Lions scored 22 points in a 1:22 span to end the first half and slam the door on the Dragons. William Monroe falls to 2-2.

Fluvanna got two touchdowns from T.J. Dudley at the quarterback spot and stormed past Western Albemarle, 27-0. The Flucos get the big district opening win on the road, while the Warriors lose their third in a row.

Albemarle lost its Commonwealth District opener to North Stafford, 41-13. The Patriots fell in an early hole and could not climb out against the Wolverines. They're back in action next week at Colonial Forge.

STAB improved to 4-0 on the season with a 21-0 win over Trinity on Friday. The Saints figured out Trinity's pesky defense in the second half and earned the shutout win. They're back in action next week against St. Christopher's.
