The Monticello Boys Basketball Team traveled to Louisa tonight, and came away with a big 64-34 win. With the victory, the Mustangs improve to 7-1 in the Jefferson District, and take a half game lead over Orange at the top of the standings.

Charlottesville and Fluvanna had a back and forth battle tonight, with the Knights coming out on top, 88-79. Charlottesville remains two games behind Monticello for first place.

Mike Roach scored 28 points, as William Monroe grabbed a key road win at Western Albemarle, 71-67, in double overtime. The Dragons held a five point lead at the half, but was unable to hold it, as the Warrior came back to take a five point lead. William Monroe was able to prevail in the extra frames.

Albemarle got 15 points from Cameron Anderson, but could not stop Colonial Forge in Commonwealth District play, falling to the Eagles, 46-38. Adam Utz added eight, while Zach Vrhovac scored seven for the Patriots in the losing cause. The Pats trailed by one at the half, but were unable to overtake Colonial Forge in the second.

On the girls side, Louisa grabbed a big win at home, taking down Monticello, 46-39. Melissa Estepp scored a game high 17 points for the Mustangs in the loss. Monticello put together a fourth quarter comeback, after trailing by 13 after three, but the Lions grabbed the Jefferson District victory.

Charlottesville improved to 7-1 in the district, topping Fluvanna, 67-32. Shawntae Payne scored 24 points, while Shalita Brown chipped in 19. The Knights, Western Albemarle, and Orange are all tied atop the district standings.

Western stayed there by topping William Monroe, 55-47. Molly Schwoebel's 15 points led the Warriors, while Mary Schwartz added ten.
