Kevin Leatherwood scored 23 points, while Omari Minor chipped in 21, as the Charlottesville boys basketball team topped Louisa, 81-51. The Knights remain in the Jefferson District hunt, as they have now won six consecutive games. Charlottesville had battled some injuries earlier in the season, most notebly Leatherwood, who was sidelined for two weeks.
Saint Anne's Belfield topped Saint Christopher's tonight, 78-58. Brian Lynch dropped 23 points to lead all scorers in the win, including seven three pointers. Alex Asher posted a double-double on the night, scoring 13 points and pulling down seven rebounds. Brett Goodloe added 17 points, while dishing out eight assists.
Albemarle continued its Commonwealth District struggles, falling at Mountain View tonight, 53-35. Cameron Anderson led the Patriots with 13 points in the losing effort.
The Patriots girls fared no better, also falling to Mountain View by a 57-42 count. Katie Tubridy scored 18 points, while Kara Elder pitched in seven.
