Knights Advance to State Tournament

The Charlottesville boys basketball team fell to Millbrook 73-60 in the Region II tournament finals. The Black Knights went on a 9-0 run to end the first half. They trailed by four heading into the locker room. But Millbrook held on in the second half. Maurice Jackson lead the way for the Black Knights with 15 points. They advance to the state tournament next Saturday.

On the girls end, Charlottesville defeated Brentsville 43-39. The Black Knights have won eight consecutive regional tournaments. Shawnte Payne led the Knights with 17 points. Erica Brown followed with 13 points. They host the first round of the state tournament on Saturday at 7 p.m.
