The Monticello football team hosted Spotswood tonight in scrimmage action, after practicing for the last two weeks. This marks the first time that the Mustangs were able to practice plays against another team.

Monticello is looking to avoid a let down in 2008, after winning the state title last season. The Mustangs return quarterback Michael Graham and running back and defensive back Hines Banks, but lost Takeem Hedgeman, their all-state running back from a year ago.

No score was kept in tonight's scrimmage, though the Mustangs looked fine tuned for being just two weeks into practice. Graham hooked up with Kyree Washington for a 30 yard touchdown play as a highlight.

In other scrimmage action, Albemarle fell to Turner Ashby on Friday, 21-0, and topped Park View, 20-7.
