The Louisa football team improved to 2-0 on the season, shutting out Powhatan, 21-0. The Lion defense was able to keep the Indians off the scoreboard, and proved to be the difference in the victory.

Louisa is now 2-0, after finishing 2007 with a 3-7 record. The Lions got on the board first in the second quarter as Anthony Hunter dove across the goal line and into the endzone for the score. Both teams failed to put anymore points up in the half, and Louisa went into the locker room at halftime with a 7-0 lead. The second half proved to be more of the same, as the Lions added two more scores to take the 21-0 win.

The match up was moved up 24 hours due to the impending rain and winds that are expected to hit the Richmond area as part of Tropical Storm Hanna. Tune into Friday Night EndZone on ABC16 on Friday at 11:35 for highlights of this game and all other local action.
