October 16th High School Sports Wrap Up

The high school volleyball regular season is winding down, as teams prepare for their respective district tournaments. Entering Thursday, only two more days of district regular season action remained to establish Jefferson District tournament seedings.

Western Albemarle improved to 11-0 in district play, topping Charlottesville, 3-0. The Warriors are 15-3 overall, and have already clinched their seventh consecutive district regular season title. They'll wrap things up on Tuesday against Orange.

Fluvanna moved into a tie for second place with William Monroe, knocking off Monticello, 3-0. The Flucos improve to 7-3 in the district, 11-6 overall. Monticello falls to 5-5.

In Commonwealth District action, Albemarle put together a solid showing, topping Riverbend, 3-1.
