Albemarle traveled to Monticello to renew a cross town rivalry, and on the boys side, the Mustangs had the last laugh. In a match up that went back and forth the entire 32 minutes, Monticello came away with the 47-46 victory.
Girls action saw a different result. The Patriots dominated the contest, cruising to a 67-36 win.
In Crozet, Western Albemarle had trouble with R.E. Lee, falling 57-38. Kelsey Swanson led the Warriors with eight points in the loss.
In other girls action, Brittnee Conley scored ten points for William Monroe to pace the Dragons pace Luray, 57-38.
