After an extensive search, the Covenant School has selected Dan Baranik as its new head football coach.
Baranik comes to Central Virginia from West Point, where he was a wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at Army for the last four seasons. He has also coached at Maryland and several small colleges in Pennsylvania over the course of his career. At his introduction, Baranik stressed a team-first mentality, and says he wants to play as many players as possible.
Baranik replaces Mark Sanford, who left Covenant to take over the head coaching position at William Monroe. In his last season at Covenant, Sanford led the Eagles to a berth in the state semifinals.
