The Monticello girls basketball team is out to a 5-0 start after finishing 2-20 just one season ago and senior captain Eryn Rothenberg is a big reason why. The senior provides leadership on the court and does extremely well in the classroom as well.
Rothenberg currently holds a 3.5 grade point average, but is not just taking normal high school courses. She is taking some of her college courses at Piedmont Virginia Community College as a senior in high school and will go to college next year with a good portion of her first year courses already completed.
As for her work on the court, head coach Mike Mountjoy cannot say enough about his senior captain. As a junior she averaged six points and four rebounds per game despite suffering an ankle injury. This year she has returned and sparked a turnaround in the Mustangs.
