Mike Alley will be announced Thursday as the new head football coach at Albemarle High School. Alley will replace Wendell Green as head coach of the AHS Patriots varsity football team.

Alley is formerly of the Blue Ridge School and William Monroe High School in Greene County. He takes over a team that went winless last season.

The Patriots went 0-10 on the year and 0-7 in Commonwealth District play. Albemarle averaged a paltry 8.6 points per game offensively and surrendered an average of 48.1 points per contest.
