The Albemarle Volleyball Team won the first two games, and then took the deciding fifth game, knocking off Western Albemarle, 3-2. The Patriots improve to 3-0 on the season.

After falling in the first two games, the Warriors responded with 25-21 and 25-17 wins in the next two, forcing a deciding game five. The Patriots proved to be too much, taking that contest, 15-8.

Western got solid play from Laura Wilson, who dished out 14 assists and added five kills. Sarah Harper added six kills, 13 digs, and two aces in the losing effort. The Warriors fall to 0-1 on the season.

This marks the third consecutive match that Albemarle has taken from its cross-county rivals. Western had won the previous four, prior to last year's Patriot sweep.
