The Charlottesville football program experienced a rebirth of sorts last season as the Black Knights made it to the postseason for the first time in a decade.
Now CHS will look to continue that momentum into the first game of the 2013 season when it travels to Eastern View.
"Well it will be nice, we've been kind of forecasting this game like everyone else in the U.S., when the season ends you always look at the next game, the next date," head coach Eric Sherry said. "This is what we got so we're real excited to see what we can do tomorrow."
"It's just great bringing back the "Ville" jerseys, especially for me, last year I couldn't play against Eastern View, got hurt, so I'm ready to rock and roll Friday night," senior Larry Anderson added.
"It will be really big. We're all excited to get the season off on the right foot and to go out there and do our best tomorrow," fellow senior Wade Kammauff added.
If the Black Knights win tomorrow, not only will it start the season in a positive direction, it will also be the team's first win on opening night since 2002.
"We just have to set the momentum from what we had last year, knowing what we can do and setting the tone for the rest of the season," Anderson said. "Play all four quarters, don't let your foot off the pedal, just keep moving, keep trucking."
