Charlottesville High School senior Chris Thurston has decided where he will continue his football career next fall.
CHS football coach Eric Sherry announced Tuesday afternoon that Thurston will play at Los Angeles Valley, a junior college in California. Thurston said last month that he had offers to walk on at in-state schools like Virginia Union, Virginia State, and Norfolk State.
Thurston was the all-purpose player on the All-Jefferson District first team as a senior in 2013, after splitting time on offense between quarterback and running back. Thurston ran for 717 yards and 10 toudchdowns last fall, and threw for 400 yards and seven scores.
In 2012, when he was the primary running back at CHS, Thurston put up 1,229 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns.
